Porsche is steadily building out the electric version of its most popular SUV. The Macan Electric paved the way, and the 2026 Cayenne Electric is following later this year. Two trims were announced at first—a 435-hp base model and a range-topping 1139-hp Turbo—but Porsche is now filling in the gap with the Cayenne S Electric, a mid-tier variant capped at 657 horsepower.
Every Cayenne Electric uses a dual-motor layout for all-wheel drive, but the S trim carries more punch than the base version. In normal driving, output is held to 536 horsepower; activate launch control and the full 657-hp surge becomes available. With that peak power on tap, Porsche claims a 0-to-60-mph time of 3.6 seconds. Top speed is rated at 155 mph. The S borrows the same cooling arrangement as the Turbo, using direct oil cooling for the permanent magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle.
The battery is shared across all three Cayenne Electric variants: 108 kWh of usable capacity and DC fast-charging support up to 400 kilowatts. Porsche says a 10-to-80-percent charge takes under 16 minutes. No official range figure was provided for the S trim, though we anticipate it landing somewhere in the 320-mile vicinity, consistent with the rest of the lineup.
The Cayenne S carries subtle exterior distinctions, with Volcano Grey Metallic finish on the front and rear fascia trim elements. It comes standard with 21-inch Aero Design wheels, and a model-specific 20-inch aero-style option is available at no extra cost. Thirteen exterior paint colors are on offer.
As is typical for any Porsche, the options list runs long. Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus—which actively controls the rear differential for sharper handling—is available, as is Porsche Active Ride, the company's sophisticated adaptive damper system designed to virtually eliminate body motion. Ceramic composite brakes can also be specified, finished with yellow calipers. Opting for the Sport Chrono package unlocks a Push-to-Pass function that adds 120 horsepower for bursts of up to 10 seconds.
A new Interior Style package debuts alongside the Cayenne S Electric and will be available across the entire Cayenne Electric lineup. It features two-tone upholstery in black and Delgada Green, designed as a pairing with the Mystic Green Metallic exterior color. The green leather extends to the door panels and 14-way adjustable seats, with the same hue appearing on the seat belts and stitching, and the Porsche crest embroidered into the headrests. Even the aluminum trim is painted Izabal Green, which also accents the knurled Drive Mode selector.
The Cayenne S Electric is available to order now, starting at $128,650. That positions it neatly between the base Cayenne Electric at $111,350 and the Turbo at $165,350. Customer deliveries are expected to begin by late summer, shortly after the other variants start reaching owners.
