Ram 1500 buyers caught between the Warlock and the Rebel now have a new option that lands squarely between them. The new BackCountry trim level adds meaningful off-road hardware to the Big Horn 4x4 crew cab without reaching all the way to Rebel territory.

The 2026 Ram 1500 BackCountry is trail-ready as standard. It comes with a one-inch suspension lift and upgraded dampers, skid plates to shield the undercarriage, front tow hooks, and an electronic locking rear differential. Standard fitment also includes black 18-inch wheels wrapped in 32-inch off-road tires, along with a body-colored grille, black fender flares, lower cladding, and Diamond Black Crystal pearlcoat bumpers.

The interior is trimmed in black with vinyl surfaces and mesh seat inserts. The standard Level 1 Equipment group includes heated front seats and heated steering wheel, power-adjustable pedals, additional rear storage cubbies, and power-folding mirrors. All BackCountry models also get all-weather floor mats and a MOLLE storage panel integrated into the seat backs. Upgrading to the Level 2 Equipment package adds a revised gauge cluster, a 12.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, expanded driver seat adjustability, dual wireless charging pads, and dual-zone climate control.

The standard engine is the 420-hp Hurricane turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six, with the 395-hp 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 available as a $1,200 upgrade. The six-cylinder BackCountry starts at $62,410, representing a $2,995 premium over the base four-wheel-drive Big Horn crew cab. Orders are open now.
